In addition to the "retro-packs" (a phrase I coined myself), the emulation scene is now hotter then ever. There are literally dozens of good emulators available (An emulater allows you to play perfect copies of older games on your PC). Most of these are free, and can be downloaded from various web sites on the net. Emulators are available for almost every console system ever made. You can also find emulators for most arcade games. Most of these emulators require only a few minutes to download. With this in mind, we felt it a good idea to review some of the older games in this site. We wouldn't want you wasting your precious download time.
Note: Emulators are legal, and usually free. We are not lawyers, but we are aware that the usage of ROM images (The games to play on the emulators), have questionable legality. Most sites state that it is legal to play the ROM images on an emulator as long as you own the original cartridge, or if you delete it within 24 hours. We don't know. Therefore we will not provide these images here, but we encourage you to search out the emulation sites yourself, and make an informed decision as to what is legal and what is not.
Space and time do not permit us to explain each of these older games in detail. However, we did rate each game to let you know if it would be worth playing today. Please remember though, we rate these games against other Atari 2600 games only. A 90% Atari game could not compete with a 90% Playstation game (or even NES game for that matter).
