I bought my 32x for $159.95 when it was first released. Now I see it all over for a mere $19.99. One time I even spotted it for $12.00 in a bargin bin at my local video game store.
The system was never worth it's release price, but at $19.99 or less, it's a steal. There are not many games for it, and the ones that were released generally weren't that good, but still some were fun and it does give a tad more power to the aged Genesis.
So if your looking for a few hours of fun, pick one up. I'm sure you could get the system, and at least 3 decent games for less then the price of a newly released Saturn game. Just read below to see which ones to get, and which ones to avoid!

GREAT HOLES STARRING FRED COUPLES (Sega Sports)
Great graphics for the 32x. The
gameplay and sound were a little weak, but not too bad either. If
you like golf games, you should like this.

KNUCKLES CHAOTIX (Sega)
Could somebody tell me where Sonic is,
and whose stupid idea it was to attach two characters together?
The game is fairly original, and the graphics rock. Yet, it plays
so bad that the whole game sucks. Anybody want to buy a 32x?

MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
(Sega)
Motocross is my absolute favorite sport
(unless you count video games). For years, I have been filling
out those product registration cards saying "I want a
motocross game". Well, now I got one. Guess what? They can
keep it!

SHADOW SQUADRON (Sega)
Pretty good game. Actually, it's just
what Star Wars Arcade should've been. It allows total freedom of
movement, and is generally fun to play. Too bad the graphics, and
colors are sub-par. It could've been a real winner. As it is,
above average, but not perfect.

SPACE HARRIER (Sega)
I waited forever for this game to
appear at home. The Genesis version just wasn't good enough to
satisfy me. The 32x version does! This version does the arcade
complete justice. Great Game!

STAR WARS ARCADE (Sega)
Polygons, Polygons! We're in a new age
now. This one would've been a real winner if the gameplay was
better. It lacks the total freedom of movement as in Shadow
Squadron. As it is, the only redeming quality is the Star Wars
theme.

VIRTUA RACING (Sega)
Here's one of the few good reasons to
buy a 32x. Graphics are good. It plays well (Could be faster
though), and is one of the few polygon racers (Note: this review
was wrote when the Saturn and Playstation were newly released). I
just wish the music was continuous instead of broken.
