The game has a good to great storyline. But that isn't what people are looking at. It is the battle screens. The battles are laded out on a playing field allowing you to dodge attacks, attack, and cast spells against very very tough foes. There are three different modes of battle ranging from Semi-Active to Full-Active. Also there are tons of minigames to play and skills you can learn which enables you to create items, cook food, forge items, and identify items bringing a whole nether aspect to the game. It is a all around great game and the only thing that sets it back is the language translation. But other than that the game is very well made. The full-motion videos are great reminding me of of FFVII. Also another great thing is that the game has over 80 possible endings. Giving it tons of replay value and keeping the game fresh and fun unlike some RPG's out there today. You definitely get your moneys worth with Star Ocean : The 2nd Story .
